Teacher and Support Person of the Year

Congratulations to our Teacher and Support Person of the Year!

Brian Collins, Teacher of the Year 2017

Brian is a 1989 graduate of Hammon High School and a 1994 graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Brian started his teaching and coaching career in Carter in 1996.  After 3 years in Carter, he moved to Sndyer and has been teaching High School science classes and coaching various sports for the past 17 years.  His current assignments are Physical Science, Chemistry, Forensics, Fast pitch Softball, Girls Basketball and Baseball.

Brian is married to Dixie Collins who also teaches for Snyder Public Schools and has two children, Curtis and Sydnee. Curtis is an SHS graduate who lives in El Reno and works for Pioneer Telephone as a Computer Engineer.  Sydnee will graduate from SHs this spring and plans to attend SWOSU to major in Elementary Education. Brian's hobbies include snow skiing, summer water sports and hunting.

Brandon Hale, Support Person of the Year 2017

Brandon Hale has lived his whole life in Snyder and graduated from Snyder High School in 1995.  He worked as a carpenter for seven years then went to work for the City of Snyder as the Utility's Supervisor for two years.  Brandon then attended Great Plains Technology Center for two years and became an architectural/mechanical drafter.  He then took a job for Ron Nance Enterprise and became the Head Drafter for the Oaks Development Company where he worked for eleven years and is currently employed on a part-time basis.  Brandon is currently a Custodian and Maintenance Person at the Snyder Elementary School.

Brandon married his high school sweetheart, Nikki Shelton and has been married for 17 years.  They have two children, Nathan and Braelen.  Nathan is a 16 year old junior at Snyder High School and Braelen is a 4 year old Pre-K student at Mt. Park Primary.
