Bandsman of the Month

Cassidy Adams

Cassidy Adams has been chosen bandsman of the month for September.  Cassidy is a very hard worker and never complains.  She is willing to above and beyond the call of duty.  Cassidy is an 8th grader, plays the clarinet and is the daughter of Michelle Adams.

Chey'anne Harmon

Chey'anne Harmon has been selected as bandsman of the month for October.  Chey'anne is very reliable and responsible and does an awesome job at marching.  Her work ethic and great attitude make the Snyder Cyclone Band better!  Chey'anne plays the clarinet and is the daughter of Mark and Kelly Harmon.

All-Region 2011-2012

Southwest Oklahoma Band Directors Association (SWOBDA) held the All-Region auditions on November 5 in Altus.  Dale Remy made 3rd chair tuba in the SWOBDA All-Region Junior High Symphonic Band and Chase Morgan made 1st chair in the SWOBDA All-Regin Junior High Concert Band.  This is Chase's 3rd consecutive year making the SWOBDA All-Region Band and he will receive a 3 year medal at the clinic in Weatherford on February 4, 2012.  Britney Woodall made 1st chair SWOBDA High School Concert Band and it is her 6th consecutive year making th016e SWOBDA All-Region Band and she will be receiving a 6 year medal at the clinic in Weatherford on February 4. 

Sydnee Collins auditioned for the 7th grade SWOBDA All-Region Honor Band on November 5 as well.  She made 5th chair in the 7th Grade SWOBDA All-Region Band.  There were between 1200-1400 students auditioning from 35-40 schools for places in the 5 bands (2 high school, 2 junior high and 1 seventh grade).  It is a great honor to be earn a spot in any of these bands.

The Snyder High School Band competed at Regional Marching Contest on October 11 at Cameron University.  The band performed their Batman theme show and received an excellent rating.  Mr. and Mrs. Schulz are very proud of the students' hard work in preparing for the competition.
